The New Force Presidential Candidate Nana Kwame Bediako, has paid a courtesy call on the Dormaahene, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Dr Nana Freduah Agyemang Badu II, as part of his campaign tour ahead of the December general election.
While at the Palace in the Bono Region where he was humbly welcomed by the chief and his elders, the young presidential candidate spoke briefly about the existing conflict between the Dormaahene and the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
Cheddar, who appeared concerned about the right between the two revered traditional rulers in the country, appealed for calm and offered himself as a sacrificial lamb to end the rift and heal the divide.
On his part, the Dormaahene expressed his admiration for Nana Kwame Bediako’s boldness to speak about such an issue and promised that his words of unity would not be in vain.
He asked his elders to clap for Cheddar, saying it takes great courage for such a young man of 44 years to speak to such an issue.
The Dormaahene complained about the fact that although the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), have alternated power for the past Thirty-Two years, the nation continues to suffer.
He noted that but for the restrictions placed on chiefs by the 1992 constitution which forbids them from participating in politics, he would have openly declared his support for Nana Kwame Bediako.
