The winning presidential candidate of the Republican Party, Donald Trump, has said that Americans have once again regained control of their country.
“This victory will forever be remembered. This is the day the American people regained control of their country,” he said at West Palm Beach in Florida while addressing his supporters after claiming victory in the ongoing 2024 U.S. presidential election.
According to Trump, a promise made must be a promise fulfilled, adding that with support from his experts and technocrats, his government would make America “great again.”
He said, “I want to thank the millions of hardworking Americans across the nation. You have always been part of this truly great movement. We have been through so much together, and today you showed up in record numbers to declare victory.”
“We’re going to pay you back, we’re going to do the best job, we’re going to turn it around, and we must turn it around so fast,” he added.
The 78-year-old also told his supporters, “This will truly be the golden age of America.”
Mr Trump has won key battleground states such as Georgia, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina, and is leading in several others, narrowing Kamala Harris’s path to victory significantly.
