The Lord our God has seen Justice J. C. Amonoo-Monney in good health and sound mind to his 90th birthday and thanksgiving celebration today, November 6, 2024, and it is only proper and fitting that Ghana as a nation should wish him a happy anniversary celebration and pray that the Great Architect of the Universe grant him long life, continuous good health and prosperity in the years ahead.
My family and I appreciate and admire Mr Justice Amonno-Monney’s commitment, dedication and selfless public service to Ghana during his tenure at the Ministry of Justice and Attorney-General's Department, as one of the judges at the superior courts of Ghana and as a lay preacher after he retires from the Court of Appeal on April 11, 2005, after the six months allowed him to complete pending cases.
We wish you a HAPPY CELEBRATION AND THANKSGIVING on your 90th Birthday and pray that the good Lord continues to prosper you and your family in the years ahead.
Mr Justice J. C. Amonoo-Monney is a shining example of honour, integrity, selfless public service and a witness to the wonderful things God has done for Ghana and humanity. I collaborated with Justice Amonoo-Monney at the Ministry of Justice and Attorney-General’s Department and in the Consultative Assembly 1991 that drafted the 1992 Constitution, and I can affirm his humility, honesty, and integrity in the service of our homeland Ghana.
This is a man who has never sought to pull colleagues down for self-enhancement and has dedicated his life to helping others grow and even surpass his achievements in life. This is a man who just three months to his retirement at age 65 on 6 November 1999 at the Attorney-General’s Department, as a most distinguished Director of Public Prosecutions, would not lobby for recommendation to the Supreme Court. Even when he was told without asking that he had been recommended to the Court of Appeal in the hope of a vacancy in the Supreme Court, he in all humility and service accepted to continue to serve his nation at the same level of renumeration. Despite his unsurpassed merits, Destiny kept this precious jewel at the Court of Appeal until his retirement in April 2005, after which he continued his lay pastoral work to date.
This man has taught law part-time and continues to teach at the Ghana School of Law over the decades and bringing up many lawyers now sitting on the higher courts of Ghana.
May the Lord accept the sacrifice of thanksgiving that Mr. Justice J. C. Amonoo-Monney and his family are offering this day from their hands for the praise and glory of His Name.
May the Lord guide and guard you in the years ahead. HAPPY BIRTHDAY AT 90!
