The Paramount Queenmother of Bechem Traditional Area in the Ahafo Region, Nana Adwoapo Dwamena Serwaa II, has appealed to her community and Ghanaians at large to prioritise Ghana’s progress and future generations by electing Vice President and NPP Presidential Candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, as the next President of Ghana.
Welcoming Dr Bawumia to Bechem on Friday as part of his Ahafo Region tour, Nana Adwoapo Dwamena Serwaa II remarked that the ultimate consideration in selecting the next President of Ghana should be the country’s future. She added that as Vice President, Dr Bawumia has shown himself to be visionary and committed to the nation's well-being through his efforts.
“My fellow citizens, let us consider what is best for us as a country. Let us look to someone who has the nation at heart and who delivers on his promises," said Nana Serwaa.
“I am pleading with everyone here in Bechem and across Ghana. Let us not look elsewhere because this is about Ghana and the next generation. Dr Bawumia has done well; let us give him the opportunity to continue as our next President,” she urged.
The Bechem Paramount Queenmother highlighted Ghana’s progress in many areas and stressed the need to elect Dr Bawumia, who she praised for spearheading numerous national innovations, to ensure continuity and progress.
“If we make the right decision now, it will greatly benefit our country. We are on a good path with so many innovations; let us not reverse it. We should give Dr Mahamudu Bawumia the chance to continue the good work he has started."
“To the people of Ghana, Bechem, and Ahafo, I urge everyone to support Bawumia and vote for him on December 7."
Acknowledging the traditional stance of neutrality in politics, Nana Serwaa noted, “They say traditional rulers should not involve themselves in politics, but we cannot ignore what we have seen with our own eyes. We have been sharing the good we see, and we will continue to do so.”
In her appeal for support, Nana Serwaa also offered prayers for Dr Bawumia, expressing confidence that he will be sworn in as Ghana’s next President in January 2025.
“My son, don’t worry. Remain resolute and bold, for victory awaits you. By the grace of God, you’ll be sworn in as President a month after December. By the grace of God, it will come to pass.”
