The Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, has reiterated his dedication to addressing the controversial sale of government lands.
During his Governance Forum held in Accra on Thursday, October 31, Mahama stated the importance of transparency and accountability in land transactions.
He pledged to launch an investigation into the sale of state lands, highlighting that this scrutiny would extend beyond the Greater Accra Region to encompass other areas of the country.
According to him, his commitment reflects his concern over the potential misuse of government assets and the need for responsible governance.
By prioritising this issue, Mr Mahama aims to restore public trust in the management of state resources and ensure that such lands are utilised for the benefit of all Ghanaians.
“As I assured the chiefs of the Ga State, we will open an inquiry into the sale of stolen government lands, and the implementation of the Accra Redevelopment policy.
"Let me assure you, the investigation of government-looted lands will not only be restricted to Greater Accra. We are aware of the developments that have taken place in Kumasi, Ho and Tamale."
“And we extend the ORAL in all the 16 regions and commit rigorously to implementing this inquiry.”
