A Human Relations Officer and Sports Coordinator at the National Petroleum Authority(NPA), Sena Akoto-Ampawu has attributed the NPA's success at the JoySports Invitational, to the excellent training regime.
With four gold medals, NPA emerged as the overall winners of this year’s JoySports Invitational Tournament held at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
Speaking on JoyPrime on Thursday morning, Akoto Ampaw said their success at the event was the result of their hard work.
It was all joy on Saturday night for staff of NPA as they secured the biggest medal haul at the JoySports Invitational
‘‘We do not wait for competitions before we train. We train all year round. Our current training program was originally supposed to be a 52 week program but it was reviewed to 48 weeks. That means always every week of the year, we train'' Sena Akoto-Ampaw said.
Meanwhile, Akoto-Ampaw also thanked the NPA’s management for their continued support and pledged to win more laurels next year.
‘‘We excel because at NPA, staff and employee welfare is priority. Whenever there is a proposal regarding employee welfare, Dr. Mustapha Hamid treats it with the urgency it deserves and makes sure the matter is addressed.’’
‘‘We have started training in other disciplines, like pickle ball. So the other teams should get ready. We are primed for even more laurels next year. Watch out for us.’’
NPA won gold medals in table tennis (both male and female), tennis, and tug of peace events at this year’s JoySports Invitational Tournament.
