ARB Apex Bank's Kelvin Djomoah claimed first place in the chess competition at the 2024 JoySports Invitational, held on Saturday, 26th October, at the University of Ghana Stadium.
Organised by JoySports, the event received support from sponsors including the Minerals Commission, McDan Group, The Luckiest, Skechers, Emigoh Ghana, Peeva Beverages, and Caveman Watches.
Representing ARB Apex Bank, Djomoah outperformed his corporate competitors, with Hagan Nana Banyin from MultiChoice and Boateng Joseph from McDan Group securing second and third places, respectively.
Participants showcased skill and strategy, bringing both grit and corporate pride to the board. ARB Apex Bank stood out this year, taking the top prize in the Chess category.
Madam Christie Ashley, a representative from the Chess Federation of Ghana, supervised the competition to ensure it was professionally coordinated and fair.
In other competitions, Jetlink Flight Support dominated Scrabble, while the hosts, Multimedia Group, claimed victory in Armwrestling. Escort Security excelled in swimming, followed by MultiChoice Ghana, who also showcased their expertise by winning the Esports competition.
McDan Group triumphed in Volleyball, and Piwak Natural Health proudly won the men’s 5km race walk. Meanwhile, Cosa-Bright Company Limited, specialists in civil engineering and electrical works, took the spotlight by winning the football tournament.
Adding vibrant energy, Adansi Travels earned the Team Spirit award, bringing an unforgettable atmosphere and proving they have unmatched spirit.
The JoySports Invitational, which brought together over 28 corporate organisations, provided a platform for showcasing individual talent and fostering team spirit.
