The Member of Parliament for the New South constituency in the Eastern region, Michael Okyere Baafi together with his constituency executives has officially launched the party's 2024 campaign at Koforidua in the Eastern region.
With the launch, it means members and sympathisers of the party have been given the go-ahead to canvas for votes for the party's flagbearer, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia and parliamentary candidate, Michael Okyere Baafi ahead of the December, 7 polls.
The launch of the campaign was preceded by a mega health walk that saw thousands of NPP supporters and sympathizers participating.
The teeming crowd walked several kilometers to express their loyalty and commitment towards the course of the NPP.
A number of party and government officials as well as Members of Parliament from the Eastern region graced the programme.
Addressing the enthusiastic party supporters and well-wishers, Michael Okyere Baafi urged them to work harder than ever to win more votes for the flagbearer to break the eight-year cycle of governance.
" As we launch the campaign, I am urging you all to move into the ghettos, slums, rooms, enter everywhere you can to sell the message of Dr. Bawumia and the NPP," he said
According to the MP, having a united front will contribute significantly towards winning the elections.
" Let's all unite as one people, I thank Dr. Assibey-Yeboah, I thank Yaa Ansah, I thank KB, chairman Oteng Adu and everybody for putting aside our differences and coming together to support a common course," he stated
On his part, the Eastern regional chairman of the party, Jeff Konadu Addo noted that the party made the right decision by choosing a Muslim to lead them into the elections hence the need for all Muslims to rally behind him in the elections.
He stated that it would be a mistake for Muslims to vote against one of their own in the December polls.
