Asante Kotoko's hopes of extending their winning streak were ended after a 1-1 draw with Basake Holy Stars on Sunday at the CAM Park in the Ghana Premier League.
Kotoko had won three games in a row and were on the verge of making it four when Albert Amoah finished off a fine solo effort after the 30th-minute mark, for his fourth goal of the season.
The Porcupines were close to picking up maximum points before Prince Tweneboah broke their hearts with an equalizer nine minutes from time.
The outcome proved costly for Kotoko, who not only had their winning streak halted but also missed the chance to go levelled on points with league leaders Gold Stars.
Meanwhile, a point appears positive for Holy Stars, who also avoided a second straight loss in the league and now sit 14th on the table.
Up next for Holy Stars is a trip to Berekum Chelsea, while Kotoko travel to face Legon Cities.
