Mrs. Lordina Dramani Mahama, wife of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, recently visited the Ketu North Constituency in the Volta Region to campaign for John Mahama and the parliamentary candidate, Edem Agbana.
During her visit, Mrs. Mahama met with chiefs and queen mothers in the constituency, seeking their blessings and prayers for the NDC’s campaign. She introduced the NDC parliamentary candidate, Edem Agbana, to the traditional leaders, urging them to support him for a decisive victory.
The former First Lady commended the party's constituency leadership, emphasizing that John Mahama's victory in December would be assured through their dedication and hard work. She reaffirmed her husband’s unwavering commitment to the Volta Region, assuring the people that their loyalty to the NDC would always be rewarded with essential development projects.
As a known philanthropist and advocate for women and children through her Lordina Foundation, Mrs. Mahama highlighted the importance of initiatives like the Women’s Development Bank, the National Apprenticeship Programme, and the implementation of a 24-hour economic policy, particularly aimed at women and youth. She assured women engaged in small businesses that they would have access to affordable funding under a future Mahama administration.
At the Afife Health Centre, Mrs. Mahama donated medical equipment to enhance healthcare delivery. Dr. Sampson Mortty, on behalf of the health centre, expressed gratitude for the timely donation, noting that it would significantly alleviate the challenges the health team faces due to inadequate medical supplies. He expressed confidence that the donated equipment would greatly improve their ability to deliver effective care.
Edem Agbana also thanked Mrs. Mahama for her swift response to the request for support for the facility. He assured his constituents that a future Mahama administration would revitalize the health centre and provide additional resources to improve services.
