A 24-year-old farmer is currently receiving treatment at Nkwanta St. Joseph Catholic Hospital in Oti region after surviving a gun attack on his way to his farm.
The attack occurred Saturday morning as Solomon Amenu and another person were traveling on a motorbike to the farm.
This incident marks the second attack within seven days in the Nkwanta South Municipality, raising concerns among farmers about their safety.
In an interview with Adom News, Amenu said they were ambushed by unknown gunmen who opened fire without warning.
Despite sustaining multiple gunshot wounds on his right arm, Amenu managed to escape and rushed back home before being taken to the hospital for treatment.
The incident has sparked fear and outrage among residents over the rising crime rates in the area.
Residents are calling on the Police to take swift action to ensure the safety of all, especially farmers in the area.
