Former national champion, Success "Brave Warrior" Tetteh, believes meeting and hearing the words of wisdom from Okuapehene Oseadeeyo Nana Kwasi Akuffo III has reignited his childhood dream of pursuing global stardom in boxing, despite being later in his career.

Tetteh, a 10-year veteran with 16 professional fights, was in Akropong Akuapem last Friday to support his stablemate, Samuel Martei Laryea, who presented his newly won UBO Africa title to the king of the Akuapems.

Laryea had won the title a week earlier at a boxing event organized in honor of Oseadeeyo Akuffo III, who also sponsored the fight as part of the annual Odwira festival.

Tetteh, who won a unanimous decision over Abass Ahinful at the palace forecourt in 2022, confessed he had never felt the emotional and spiritual impact of personally meeting and paying homage to the Okuapehene until last Friday.

Accompanied by his manager, Emmanuel Koranteng, coach Aruna Mohammed, and IBF Africa featherweight champion Holy Dorgbetor, Tetteh also presented his Ghana Boxing Authority belt to Oseadeeyo Akuffo III and received the blessings the chief bestowed on Laryea.

"It was very surreal when the king beckoned us to also come and greet him, I wasn't expecting that. But he was so calm and friendly, his words of encouragement still ring in my ears, they inspire me a lot," Tetteh said.

"I felt so great when he said in front of all the people at the palace that he believes if we work hard, we can get to the level of Azumah Nelson and Mike Tyson. I feel so energised to chase my world title dreams. I am ready to take America by storm," Tetteh added.

The man who boasts 12 career victories with 9 KOs is scheduled to return in an 8-rounder on the maiden 'Street Champions' fight show presented by ACE Power Promotions at Centre Point Mall, Atomic Junction, near Legon in Accra on November 16 after which his management are confident of landing Tetteh a first fight in the US early next year.

"We are working on securing a bout in the US for Success, hopefully it happens next year. We are ready to push him to the next level," his manager, Emmanuel Koranteng said.

Tetteh's trainer, Aruna Mohammed also said: "Success is very focused and determined, his commitment is remarkable, he is getting better. Sooner or later, his hardwork and dedication will be rewarded.
