Africa Environmental Sanitation Consult (AfESC), the research and innovation arm of the Jospong Group, has signed an MoU with the Institute of Statistical Social & Economic Research (ISSER) at the University of Ghana.
This partnership is set to bolster collaborative efforts in social and economic research, leveraging the strengths of both institutions.
The MoU formalises the relationship between AfESC and ISSER, establishing a framework for a research and education network.
The collaboration will involve joint research and teaching initiatives, staff and student exchange programs, collaborative research activities and co-applications for research grants.
Other things they will work together on include seminars and courses on mutually agreed topics, exchange of information, documentation, and scientific publications, support for student placements and assessments as well as additional activities of mutual interest.
Professor Peter Quartey, Director of ISSER, expressed enthusiastic support for the partnership, stating that pooling resources and expertise will enhance the institutions’ impact on social and economic research.
He highlighted how a unified approach would improve their ability to attract essential grants to further their initiatives.
Dr. Abena N. Asomaning, Managing Director of AfESC, also voiced optimism about the collaboration, noting that partnering with a prestigious institution like ISSER is a significant step for AfESC.
She emphasised the potential for this partnership to open new research avenues for the Jospong Group and expressed hope for shared success in advancing Ghana’s development goals.
