Beatrice Annan, spokesperson for the John Mahama Campaign team, has expressed confidence that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will clinch victory in the 2024 general elections, catching the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) off guard.
According to Annan, the NDC has developed a unique strategy designed to surprise its opponents and position the party favorably among voters.
In an interview with Citi FM on Thursday, October 24, 2024, Annan pointed to various international polls, including analyses from Fitch, the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), and Global InfoAnalytics, which all forecast an NDC-led government after the 2024 elections.
These polls, she noted, reflect growing public sentiment in favour of the NDC’s return to power.
Madam Annan emphasised that the NDC is fully engaged in intensive campaign efforts and is also focused on establishing the necessary structures and policies to govern effectively should they win.
She highlighted the party’s proactive approach in preparing for the governance responsibilities.
She reaffirmed the NDC’s commitment to addressing key national issues, stating that a Mahama-led government would be well-prepared to tackle challenges and restore economic stability.
“Fitch, EIU, Global InfoAnalytics and all international polls are showing that the NDC is forming the next government. We are not just campaigning, we are also putting in place structures to govern this country and some of these inform why we said we would appoint our ministers within 14 days of being in office. We are prepared and we will hit the ground running."
“The flagbearer is in Accra. We had a series of meetings, some of which I cannot speak to in the public domain, but I can tell you that the NDC is more focused. Our strategy is not what the NPP thinks it is, we will take them by surprise,” she insisted.
