The THX 22 Foundation, the charitable arm of 22Bet, successfully hosted a breast cancer awareness event at Texpo Market in Spintex.
Under the theme “Breast Cancer Awareness: Feel It, Find It, Fight It,” the event aimed to educate traders and community members about breast cancer prevention and the importance of early detection.
The event kicked off with a lively market announcer drawing attention to the significance of breast cancer awareness.
In collaboration with Danpong Community Healthcare, the THX 22 Foundation organised educational and screening activities.
Medical professionals from Danpong provided free breast cancer screenings and shared valuable information on symptoms, risk factors, and preventive measures.
A panel of breast cancer experts engaged the community with insights into self-examinations and the importance of early detection.
During the interactive Q&A session, traders and attendees expressed their eagerness to learn more about self-exams and identifying potential warning signs.
The event also included practical demonstrations where participants learned how to perform breast self-examinations.
Attendees left better equipped with knowledge on how to detect early signs of breast cancer and dispel common myths.
“We are grateful for this initiative,” said Madam Akua, a trader at Texpo Market.
“We never realised breast cancer could affect anyone, regardless of age or background. Now, we will make sure to prioritize our health.”
Alongside the educational aspect, the THX 22 Foundation distributed informational materials, food items, and branded breast cancer awareness T-shirts.
The day was filled with a sense of community as traders participated in a dance session, which added excitement and strengthened bonds.
The success of the event was the result of a strong partnership between Texpo Market authorities, Danpong Community Healthcare, and the THX 22 Foundation.
This collaboration showcased the impact of united efforts in promoting health education and cancer prevention.
Anita Korankye, Human Resource Head of 22Bet Ghana, emphasized the foundation’s commitment to continuing this important work.
“Education is key to combating breast cancer. We remain dedicated to empowering communities and promoting health for all.”
