The Vice President and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has assured the chiefs and people of the Adaklu Constituency that his government will continue to bring more development to their area and other parts of the Volta Region.
Dr. Bawumia, who has been touring the Volta Region since Sunday, visited the Adaklu Constituency on Tuesday as part of his campaign.
Speaking to community stakeholders, including chiefs, imams, the clergy, and residents, Dr. Bawumia emphasized that the NPP government, over the past seven and a half years, has achieved a lot for the Adaklu area and the Volta Region. He assured the people that as President, he would deliver even more.
"We Have Shown What We Can Do, and a Bawumia Presidency Will Do More"
Dr. Bawumia reminded the chiefs and people of Adaklu that the NPP government will continue to promote development in the area and across the Volta Region.
In his address to community leaders and stakeholders, Dr. Bawumia noted that the NPP government has accomplished more in seven and a half years than the National Democratic Congress (NDC) did in its combined 16 years in power during the 4th Republic. He reassured the people that, as President, he would bring even more improvements.
Dr. Bawumia also highlighted several projects initiated by the NPP in Adaklu, including a stadium.
“We have provided potable drinking water to Adaklu. We have built a youth resource centre, a stadium, a district police command, and a magistrate court with a bungalow here in Adaklu. We are also building an Agenda 111 hospital right here. This shows our philosophy in economic development,” Dr. Bawumia said.
“During the NDC’s 16 years in government, they didn’t build the roads for you, but we are working hard to make improvements in many areas. We believe that Adaklu will prosper under the NPP and a Bawumia presidency because we have shown what we can do. The evidence is clear."
“We Are Here to Solve Problems”
Dr. Bawumia stressed that the role of government is to identify and solve the problems of the people. "I pride myself as a problem solver. When I leave here, I will take your concerns and find ways to solve them for you," he added.
The Vice President further emphasized that, with the constitution allowing him two terms in office, unlike his opponent, former President John Mahama, who can only serve one term, he would be more accountable to the people. He explained that he would work harder to earn their trust, knowing he would seek re-election.
He urged the Adaklu community and the entire region to support his bid for the presidency so that he can implement his inclusive vision for the country’s development.
