GreenFaith Ghana successfully brought together multifaith communities in Konongo for a significant climate walk.
It aimed at raising awareness about environmental challenges, including the harmful effects of illegal mining.
The event, part of the global Faiths4Climate Justice campaign, emphasized the vital role of faith leaders in advocating for long-term climate action.
The walk saw the participation of 50-100 individuals from various faith backgrounds—Muslims, Christians, Traditionalists, and others—who gathered to highlight the importance of environmental stewardship.
United under the banner of climate justice, the faith communities demonstrated their commitment to promoting sustainable practices in their local areas.
During a press conference held as part of the event, faith leaders addressed the severe impacts of illegal mining on local communities and called for sustainable resource management.
They also stressed the urgency of transitioning to renewable energy, reducing carbon emissions, and halting the development of fossil fuels.
This peaceful initiative by GreenFaith Ghana has inspired grassroots engagement, encouraging people of faith to adopt climate-friendly practices and take an active role in protecting the environment for future generations.
