The National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, has expressed strong confidence that the party will secure victory in the upcoming general elections.
Speaking during the NDC’s campaign launch in Bantama, Gyamfi noted the impressive turnout at the event, attributing it to growing support for John Mahama, particularly in the Ashanti Region.
He dismissed comments made by Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the running mate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who had claimed that voting for the NDC would bring a curse upon the Asante people.
Mr Gyamfi argued that the region deserves tangible development, and voters should prioritise results over empty promises, taking a swipe at the NPP for failing to fulfil its obligations to the Ashanti Region.
He criticised the NPP for not delivering on their key pledges from the 2016 elections, despite enjoying significant backing from the Ashanti Region.
He urged the electorate to vote out the NPP in the upcoming elections, as the party had failed to meet the expectations of the people.
In support of this call, Muntaka Mubarak, the Member of Parliament for Asawase, encouraged party members to intensify their efforts on the ground.
He stressed the importance of a strong and united campaign to ensure the NDC’s success in December’s polls.
Kwadwo Addai Dapaah, the NDC’s Parliamentary Candidate for Bantama, also emphasized the need for a vigorous campaign, underscoring the critical role it would play in securing victory for the party in the constituency and beyond.
