A man in his early 40s, identified as James Appiah, also known as Atta, was found dead inside a truck at Nyankyerenease in the Kwadaso constituency of the Ashanti Region on Sunday, October 20, 2024.
His lifeless body was discovered after he had reportedly been seen sleeping in the vehicle earlier.
According to an eyewitness, Maame Ampofowaa, the late Atta had parked his truck on the main street of Nyankyerenease with its windows shut.
Despite being in a position that obstructed the road, he did not respond to calls to move the vehicle. Several people had attempted to wake him, but to no avail.
Ampofowaa recounted her experience to local media, stating that she had tried multiple times to convince Atta to repark the truck, but he remained unresponsive.
She eventually gave up and went home, assuming that Atta was simply resting.
Later that day, the community was shocked to learn that Atta had been found dead inside the truck.
The incident left many in the area shaken as they tried to make sense of the sudden tragedy.
Authorities have since been notified, and investigations are expected to be conducted to determine the cause of death.
“I had a back-and-forth confrontation with him around 11 in the morning because of how poorly he had parked. At 1 pm, he still hadn’t moved his car, and I needed to load some things for my clients. I noticed he was sitting and sleeping in the passenger seat, so I decided to leave him alone."
“When I left my shop at 3 p.m., he was still asleep in the car. Later, around 7 pm, I received a call informing me of his passing. The people who called me knew about the altercation I had with him earlier that day.”
