Joy Prime’s most loved culinary show, Big Chef Tertiary continues to heat up and the latest episode delivered both stunning flavours and high drama.
This week, contestants were tasked to create innovative takes on traditional dishes, celebrating the rich culinary heritage of their respective regions.
Each team brought their A-game, using local ingredients in creative ways that wowed the judges. From beautifully plated dishes to bold reinventions of classics, like Eto, Aprapransa, Etew and Fante fante just to mention a few. The contestants turned up the heat, making it one of the most competitive episodes yet.
Team CCTU, however, found themselves struggling to keep pace with their peers. While other teams embraced bold flavors and modern techniques, CCTU’s dish lacked the refinement and finesse that this stage of the competition demanded. The judges noted that while their Etew and fant Fante was a decent attempt at traditional fare, it didn’t push the boundaries nor showcased the creativity needed to advance.
After tasting all the dishes, the judges praised the standout performances of teams who managed to balance innovation with respect for the authenticity of local flavors.
After collating results from Judges and public votes, TTU, KSTU and CCTU were in the bottom three. Star school for the previous challenge, KTU had the opportunity to use their Vito power to save one team from eviction and they chose TTU.
Their reason was that, TTU on the chart, had lead the other bottom two with a significant margin. Team KSTU on the other hand, had a great score from judges yet votes did not help their situation and so judges also decided to save them from eviction due to their culinary creativity.
Unfortunately for Team CCTU, their dish fell flat, leading the judges to make the difficult decision to chop them from the competition.
As the competition moves closer to the finals, the pressure is only mounting. With CCTU out of the running, the remaining teams , KTU, TATU, BTU, KSTU, HTU and TTU will have to dig deep, impress the judges, and prove they have what it takes to win this season’s competition.
