Heart of Lions' unbeaten start to the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season ended with their defeat to Karela United.
Bashir Hayford's side suffered a 1-0 loss to Karela at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in their matchday seven fixture on Sunday, October 20.
Lions came into the fixture on the back of six unbeaten games in the top flight though they had only enjoyed one win in that period.
Karela had lost to Basake Holy Stars in their last game prior to facing Lions. However, they bounced back to winning ways as they picked up their second win of the season.
After a keenly contested opening 80 minutes in Tamale, it was Abdul Basit who broke the deadlock to give Karela the lead in the 82nd minute.
The win takes Karela to eight points after seven games played and out of the relegation zone into 12th place just one spot behind Heart of Lions.
Karela face Bechem United in their next league game while Lions take on Nsoatreman at home on matchday eight.
