Alumni of Kpando Secondary School (Kpasec), now Kpando Senior High School, have renewed their commitment to enhancing the school’s growth through mentorship, financial support, and infrastructure development. This pledge was made during an alumni event addressed by Dr Napoleon Abiwu, a proud alumnus and keynote speaker at the school's 71st anniversary celebration.
Speaking at the gathering, Dr Abiwu highlighted the critical role that Kpasec's old students play in shaping the future of current and prospective students. He emphasized that alumni engagement goes beyond maintaining a connection—it directly impacts the school’s growth and student success.
“Many students face financial barriers that could derail their education,” Dr Abiwu noted. “Alumni support, in the form of scholarships and donations, has already helped many students, but the need continues to grow. It is our responsibility to ensure no student is left behind.”
Dr Abiwu also stressed the importance of mentorship, urging former students to guide current students as they navigate academic and career challenges. He reminded alumni that their professional successes are a testament to the education they received at Kpasec and encouraged them to give back to the school that shaped them.
The event honoured notable alumni, including Tsitsia Eric Seddy Kutortse and the late Lt. Colonel Ken Degboe, for their exceptional contributions to the school’s development. Dr Abiwu acknowledged that their efforts, alongside those of other dedicated alumni, have strengthened Kpasec’s legacy of excellence.
“We are not just products of this institution, we are ambassadors. It’s time for us to come together and build for the future,” Dr Abiwu concluded, calling on all alumni to invest in the school's continued success.
The event concluded with a call to action for the alumni to stay engaged, ensure the preservation of Kpasec’s core values, and support the school’s future endeavours.
