The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has called on the electorate to vote for the NDC in the December 7, General Elections, irrespective of their political party affiliations.
Describing the performance of the eight-year term government of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as poor, Mr Nketiah said the excessive taxation and high levels of borrowing of the government had worsened the living conditions of the people.
“Even supporters and followers of the NPP are disillusioned about President Nana Akufo-Addo and Alhaji the Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s led administration, and we must come together and vote against them,” he stated.
Mr Nketiah made the call at separate political rallies at Brosankro Old Town, Breme, and Subriso in the Tano South constituency, as part of his campaign visits to the Ahafo Region.
He said: “I know and understand that the majority of electorates are considering other options because of the poor performance of the NPP government.
“However, I have always been encouraging them to support the former President John Dramani Mahama and the NDC Parliamentary Candidates to win the General Elections to enable the NDC government to turn round the economic fortunes of the nation.”
Mr Charles Asiedu, the NDC’s Parliamentary Candidate for the Tano South constituency appealed to the electorate to vote for him and former President Mahama, the party’s flagbearer.
He said he had already contributed to the socio-economic development of the local communities in the constituency, though he was yet to be the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area.
Mr Asiedu said he needed the opportunity to serve as an MP and use his “connections” to bring the development of the constituency to the next level.
