The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Accra came alive on Saturday, October 12, 2024, as diplomats, top government officials, and cultural icons gathered for an unforgettable evening of music and celebration.
The highlight of the night was Senegalese composer and singer Alune Wade, who serenaded the audience with a captivating medley of songs.
Alune Wade, renowned in the global jazz and Afrobeats scenes, took the stage alongside his talented band, fostering an atmosphere of unity and excitement that left the audience mesmerised.
Ghanaian singer Anabel Rose set the tone for the night with her soulful opening performance, perfectly complementing Wade's jazz brilliance.
Throughout the evening, Wade’s versatility shone as he breathed new life into the African jazz scene, demonstrating why he is a celebrated figure in world music.

His dynamic performance had the audience on their feet, including the Norwegian Ambassador to Ghana, Ingrid Mollestad, who was visibly impressed.

Speaking to Myjoyonline.com’s Kenneth Awotwe Darko, Ambassador Mollestad expressed her delight, stating that the event symbolized not only a celebration of art but also the opening of a new Norwegian embassy in Dakar.
She emphasised the power of music in promoting unity and solidarity, key elements in strengthening bilateral relations between nations.
“It ties in through the simple fact that here we are with Ghanaian musicians, Senegalese musicians and French musicians. It's celebrating being together through music. And I think that cultural connect is one of the important ways that human beings and nations do connect… and this is what we are trying to do tonight,” she said.
Other celebrities including musicians Stonebwoy, Ria Boss and renowned visual artiste Amoako Boafo were spotted having a good time.
Attendees at were elated by the show and hope for more initiatives such as these in the future.
