NDC intensifies campaign in Ho Central Constituency

With barely two months to go to the December 7th general elections, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has intensified campaign activities in the Ho Central Constituency of the Volta Region.

Under the leadership of the Ho Central NDC Parliamentary Candidate, Edem Kpotosu activities are geared towards securing the parliamentary seat and garnering 100% of total valid votes in the constituency.

The Ho Central Constituency has been a traditional seat of the NDC since the inception of the Fourth Republic in 1992.

The NDC has, therefore, put together a team of old and new party executives and government appointees to undertake campaign activities in the constituency.

Speaking at a community engagement in Shia, Mr Kpotosu outlined his apprenticeship to master programme, which encompasses skills training and a setup to help residents engage in economic activities to support their livelihoods.

He outlined an entrepreneurship training programme that would see interested constituents train under well-established and experienced entrepreneurs.

“The second policy is that when you identify what you want to trade in, we will entrust you under the guidance of an entrepreneur for 7 months. We will graduate you and set up a shop for you which would be furnished by your trainee.

“The shop will be restocked after you finish selling the goods and give the money to your trainees. This will be repeated eight times. The ninth stock becomes your startup capital, you are not required to pay your master after sales, it is for you. Viva Mahama, Viva Kpotosu!!”, he stressed.

The last policy he said focuses on agriculture where a large size of land area would be ploughed and farm inputs made available for interested parties to cultivate and sell the produce to investors at the farm gate.

Mr Kpotosu urged the electorates to fuel his vision of human capacity building by electing him as the next Member of Parliament and John Mahama as the next President.

A former Ho Central NDC Constituency Secretary, Stanley Glatey urged the electorates to gauge their living conditions and vote accordingly on December 7th.

He expressed optimism about the NDC leading the country to “the promised land” with its proposed policies and programmes.

A former Ho Municipal Chief Executive, Isaac Kotobisa said citizens are unable to afford three-square meal a day due to hardships.

He said the next NDC government would implement policies that would create jobs and wealth for the citizens to cushion them and ensure they can feed their families.

“We thought Akufo-Addo was going to change the prospects of the country in 2016 because they mixed their messages with sugar and honey, but they ended up disappointing us”, he added.
