Former Ghana international Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has apologised to Ghanaians for openly calling for the re-appointment of Otto Addo as Black Stars coach.
The 33-year-old was part of the group that clamoured for Addo's return and backed him to do a decent job following the sacking of Chris Hughton.
However, seven months into his second coming, the former Borussia Dortmund man has struggled in the dugout with Ghana on the verge of missing out on next year's Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
This follows just two points from four games in the AFCON qualifiers which has left Ghana in third place behind Angola and Sudan.
Speaking after the Black Stars' 2-0 defeat to the Falcons of Jediane, Agyemang-Badu admitted the struggles of the gaffer.
"I apologise [as I was part] of those who advocated for the second coming of coach Otto Addo. If you go into my interviews, I gave him massive support but I’m sorry," he told Onua TV.
"It seems the task is beyond him."
Since the appointment in March, Addo has won just two games, losing three and drawing the other three.
The result against Sudan means the Black Stars will have to win their next two games in the AFCON qualifying series in November while hoping Sudan will lose theirs if they are to secure a ticket to Morocco.
