In a bold move aimed at securing victory in the upcoming 2024 general elections, the Western North Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Benjamin Armah, has vowed to ensure that the party's parliamentary candidate, Festus Bumakama Agyapong, emerges victorious in the Sefwi Wiawso constituency.
Chairman Armah, speaking during his media engagement across the region, expressed his firm commitment to uniting party members and galvanising support for Agyapong's campaign.
He emphasised that the constituency is of strategic importance to the NPP's overall electoral success in the region and that nothing will be left to chance in ensuring a win.
“The NPP is ready to maintain the Sefwi Wiawso seat, and I am personally committed to this mission. We have a solid candidate in Festus Bumakama Agyapong, who is deeply rooted in the community and has the vision to bring development to our people. It is time to maintain the seat, and we will work tirelessly to protect this seat for the NPP,” he stated.
He also called for unity within the party, stressing that the time has come for all factions to set aside any differences and rally behind Agyapong's candidacy.
According to Mr Armah, the NPP cannot afford internal divisions if they are to achieve their goal of winning both the parliamentary and presidential elections in the region.
Festus Bumakama Agyapong, the NPP parliamentary candidate for Sefwi Wiawso, has gained widespread recognition for his grassroots engagement and development-focused policies.
His campaign has centered on improving infrastructure, education, and job creation in the constituency.
In response to the Chairman’s pledge, Mr Agyapong expressed gratitude for the support and echoed the call for unity within the party.
He reiterated his commitment to addressing the needs of the people in Sefwi Wiawso, should he be elected.
With the general elections fast approaching, the NPP leadership in the Western North region has intensified efforts to reclaim key parliamentary seats, including Sefwi Wiawso, which is seen as a critical constituency in the broader electoral landscape.
The Western North region has traditionally been a battleground between the NPP and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), and the upcoming elections are expected to be highly competitive.
