Kosmos Innovation Center (KIC), in partnership with the American Chamber of Commerce, Ghana (AmCham Ghana), recently hosted a high-level CEO Breakfast Meeting.
The event brought together top business leaders to discuss strategic value creation, shared prosperity, and growth through youth development and entrepreneurship.
It served as a platform for the private sector to engage in shaping the next generation of business leaders, particularly in the agriculture and technology sectors.
The meeting, themed “Strategic Value and Impact Creation for Shared Prosperity and Growth: The Role of Corporate Institutions,” focused on how the private sector can use KIC’s youth development initiatives to foster innovation, entrepreneurship, and long-term economic growth.
KIC highlighted its approach to supporting youth-led businesses through training, mentorship, and incubation programs.
In his opening remarks, Joe Mensah, Board Chair of KIC, reiterated KIC’s dedication to entrepreneurship as a driver of social and economic transformation.
“At KIC, we believe youth-led innovation is crucial for solving some of Ghana’s most pressing challenges, especially in agriculture. By investing in young entrepreneurs, businesses can create lasting value while ensuring shared prosperity,” he stated.
Bethel Yeboah, Corporate Affairs Director for Coca-Cola West Africa and Treasurer of AmCham Ghana’s Board, also spoke.
He emphasised the role of public-private partnerships in fostering entrepreneurship and sustainable development.
“Through collaborations like this, KIC and AmCham Ghana believe private sector organisations can play a key role in creating opportunities for youth, enhancing innovation, and driving growth in sectors like agriculture and technology,” he said.
Prof. Daniel Ofori, Professor of Management at the University of Ghana Business School, discussed corporate responsibility and shared value.
He stressed the importance of aligning corporate strategies with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) indicators, noting that youth development is essential in shaping organisational strategies.
Participants were introduced to KIC’s flagship programs, including the AgriTech Challenge, which helps young innovators develop sustainable business solutions for the agriculture sector.
To date, KIC has supported over 64 youth-founded businesses, many of which are contributing to Ghana’s economic development and job creation.
Benjamin Gyan-Kesse, Executive Director of KIC, added, “At Kosmos Innovation Center, we aim to build a talent pipeline that meets the evolving needs of the business community while creating entrepreneurs in the agricultural sector.
"Our programs provide training and capacity-building to empower young people to identify opportunities in agriculture and create business solutions.”
By bringing together influential leaders, KIC and AmCham Ghana are sparking vital discussions on how the private sector can empower youth and shape the future of Ghana’s economy.
