Two directors from the Bank of Ghana (BoG) have received top honours for their outstanding contributions to global financial inclusion at the prestigious Global Policy Forum and Working Group meetings.
Dr. Settor Amediku, Director of the Regional Branch Coordinating Office, was awarded the AFI Data Technical Leadership Award, emerging as the top finalist among five contenders.
This award celebrates his leadership in improving Ghana’s digital payment infrastructure and expanding access to financial services, particularly for underserved populations.
In addition, Kwame Oppong, Director of the FinTech and Innovation Office, was named the recipient of the Digital Financial Services Technical Leadership Award.
He was recognised for his pivotal role in advancing digital financial services in Ghana, positioning the country as a leader in financial technology across the African continent.
These awards underscore the Bank of Ghana’s continued commitment to promoting financial inclusion and reflect the institution’s vision of creating a more inclusive financial landscape in Ghana and beyond.
Dr. Amediku and Mr. Oppong’s achievements are a testament to the Bank’s leadership in shaping innovative policies and systems that support greater financial access for all citizens.
The forum was hosted by the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI) in San Salvador, El Salvador, from August 31 to September 5, 2024.
