Reigning Ghana Premier League champions Samartex bounced back to winning ways as they beat Nsoatreman on matchday six in Ghana’s top flight.
Nurudeen Amadu’s side sealed a 2-0 win at the Nsenkyire Sports Complex on Monday, October 14, 2024, to end a three-game unbeaten run.
The Timber Giants took the lead just one minute into the match when Akwesi Sarpong’s well-placed effort slipped past the goalkeeper.
Samartex continued to dominate, doubling their lead in the 10th minute through Felix Koduah, giving the home side a comfortable 2-0 advantage before halftime.
Despite Nsoatreman’s attempts to respond after the break, Yaw Preko’s men struggled to convert their attacking opportunities.
Samartex held firm, maintaining their two-goal cushion to claim all three points.
The game was moved to Monday following the postponement as a result of heavy rains on Sunday, October 13.
The win moves Samartex up to fourth place in the league standings. Nsoatreman will be looking to end their losing streak when they host debutants Basake Holy Stars on matchday seven.
