The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, has stated that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) must go into opposition to reflect on the damage they have caused to Ghana.
Speaking during his campaign in the Upper West region on Sunday, October 13, Mahama emphasised that the NPP government has plunged the country into economic hardship and that they need time away from power to reassess their policies and governance approach.
Mahama, who is on a two-day tour of the region, addressed enthusiastic crowds, urging them to vote for the NDC in the upcoming December 7 elections.
He pointed out that the mismanagement and corruption under the NPP government have worsened the living conditions of many Ghanaians.
According to him, it is now time for the NPP to be held accountable for their failures by being voted out.
The former president reiterated that only by sending the NPP into opposition can the country begin to recover from the economic challenges it is facing.
He assured the people of the Upper West region that the NDC is ready to take over and implement policies that will restore the economy and provide relief for struggling Ghanaians.
Mahama also encouraged the electorate to make their voices heard at the ballot box, reminding them that the power to change the future of the country lies in their hands.
“You vote for NPP because you don’t see anything wrong with how they have mismanaged this economy. You know, the best message that Ghanaians can send not only to the NPP, but to the rest of the world is that they have done enough damage, and it is time for them to go into opposition and go and reflect on the damage that they have done to this country."
