The Catholic Archdiocese of Accra on Friday, October 11, organized a protest in the form of a prayer walk against illegal mining, popularly known as galamsey.
The walk, which started with “Service of Preparation” held at the Holy Spirit Cathedral saw hundreds of people participating in it.
The protest went through the Ridge roundabout to the Police Headquarters and ended at Christ The King Catholic Church where a petition was presented to officials from the Vice President Dr Bawumia’s office.
