The Host of the award-winning current affairs show, ‘Ekosiisen’ on Asempa FM, a subsidiary of the Multimedia Media Group Limited, Philip Osei Bonsu, popularly known as O.B. has been called to the Ghana Bar.
O.B. is among the newly trained lawyers who passed out on Friday, 11th October 2024, a day after his 40th birthday.
O.B. also doubles as the programme manager of Asempa FM. He is an Old Saint — an old student of St. John’s School in Sekondi in the Western Region.
Philip graduated from the University of Ghana with First Class Honors in Linguistics and Theatre Arts.
He is a Tullow Scholar who holds an MSc in Corporate Communication and Public Affairs with Distinction from the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland.
He is also a 2017 Mandela Washington Fellow placed in the Business & Entrepreneurship Track at the University of San Diego, California where he obtained a Post Graduate Certificate in Leadership and Social Entrepreneurship.
Philip holds an LLB from the Central University Law Faculty.
Currently, he serves as an Advisory Board Member of the Financial Literacy Foundation, Africa.
He also serves as a Board Member of Pent Media Centre and a member of the Global Editorial Team of Pent Media Centre.
He has just been called to the Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Ghana after obtaining a QC and BL from the prestigious Ghana School of Law.
Career journey
O.B., a family man and a devout Christian took over the late afternoon 'Ekosiisen' talk show in February 2018 from the Western Region where he was a celebrated radio talk show host.
O.B. started his media career as a sports journalist before moving into current affairs shows, proof of his versatility in the industry.
As a former host of Skyy Power FM’s Jolly Breakfast Show and weekend news analysis programme, News Review in Takoradi, he filled the shoes of the late Kojo Asare Baffour Acheampong, popularly known as KABA.
'Eko Sii Sen' is Ghana’s leading local language political talk show programme on Asempa FM and airs from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm every weekday.
He came to the job with a repertoire of experiences as a broadcaster and a corporate communicator.
Before joining Asempa FM, he was the Head of Public Relations for the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) in the Western Region.
OB was also Skyypower FM’s Brand and Corporate Communications Manager.
