Former GhanaU-17 head coach, Laryea Kingston, has revealed he resigned from his role because the 'environment was unhealthy' for him.
Kingston stepped down from the position as the gaffer of the side following the Black Starlets' unsuccessful attempt to qualify for the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Starlets fell short in the semifinals of the WAFU B U-17 tournament which was held in Accra earlier this year.
Explaining his decision to leave the job, Laryea said on Joy FM's Game Plan, "I don't think it's a runaway. This is a typical example of how you should work hard and not only work hard when people are watching you. As soon as I resigned then the emails started coming."
"The environment was not healthy for me so that is the more reason why I resigned."
Following his resignation from the Ghana role, Laryea was appointed the head coach at RPS Academies in the United States.
