The Vice Presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has criticised Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the NPP for daring to contest the presidential election after accusing him of playing a major role in the current hardship facing Ghanaians.
Speaking to teeming NDC followers at Nkurakwn in the Yilo Krobo constituency, the former education minister wondered how Dr. Bawumia would distance himself from a government he is part of the leadership.
"You are already in but you say we should vote for you to come. I don't even understand," she teased amidst laughter from the crowd.
She, however, said between the NDC and the NPP's presidential candidates, the former has a track record of honesty and keeping to his promises.
"Between the two of them, one will run away from the legacies of his own government but John Mahama will not tell you lies. He will admit his fault unlike the other person who doesn't want to have anything to do with his own government," she stated.
In her message, she mentioned how President Mahama seeks the welfare of women in his next government, reiterating his resolve to empower women through the establishment of a bank to support them financially.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang used the occasion to introduce the Member of Parliament for the area, Albert Tetteh Nyakotey who is seeking re-election.
