The Minister of Lands and Natural Resources and Member of Parliament for Damongo, Samuel Abu Jinapor, has expressed confidence that the alliance between Northern Ghana and the Ashanti Region will be instrumental in helping the New Patriotic Party (NPP) win the 2024 general elections.
He believes this partnership will be key to breaking the eight-year political cycle, often referred to as "breaking the eight," which has eluded previous administrations.
Addressing party supporters during the launch of the NPP campaign in the Bantama Constituency, Kumasi, Mr Jinapor emphasised the importance of the massive turnout at the Bantama Big Walk 2024 event.
According to him, enthusiastic participation was a strong indicator that the NPP was on the right track for victory in the December 7 elections.
He also highlighted the role of Francis Asenso-Boakye, the Minister of Roads and Highways, in driving this momentum, praising him as "the hardworking road builder" whose leadership has inspired confidence in the party’s ability to deliver on its promises.
Mr Jinapor urged the party faithful to remain committed and continue working hard, stressing that unity between key regions like Northern Ghana and Asanteman would ensure the NPP's success in securing another term in office.
“The strong alliance between Northern Ghana and Asanteman is going to break the 8 for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on December 7th, with the help of God,” Jinapor declared.
