In a significant move to enhance healthcare delivery in the North Dayi District, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has donated vital laboratory equipment to the Wusuta Health Center.

This initiative aims to bolster the facility’s capacity to conduct medical examinations efficiently and effectively, addressing a long-standing need for improved diagnostic capabilities.

The Wusuta Health Center serves as a critical healthcare provider for residents of Wusuta and surrounding communities. For years, the facility struggled with outdated equipment and limited resources, hindering its ability to perform essential medical tests.

Thanks to the concerted efforts of community members residing in North America and local chiefs, a new laboratory facility has been constructed, laying the groundwork for improved healthcare services.

The Church’s generous donation includes state-of-the-art laboratory instruments such as microscopes, centrifuges, and comprehensive testing kits. These tools will empower the health centre to perform a broader array of medical tests, ranging from basic blood work to advanced pathological analyses, ultimately leading to more accurate diagnoses and timely treatment.

Benjamin Ofori, the president of the Ghana Accra North-Ho Ghana District of the Church, highlighted the significance of the donation, stating, “This initiative is not just about providing equipment; it is about enhancing the quality of life for the people in this community through improved health services.”

David Tekpor-Owusu, the district health director, echoed Ofori's sentiments, noting that the new laboratory capabilities would greatly assist the health centre in expanding its diagnostic range. He added that this enhancement would also alleviate financial burdens for community members who previously had to seek diagnostic services elsewhere.

“We believe this will go a long way in helping us provide better healthcare and save costs for our community members,” Tekpor-Owusu remarked.

Togbe Osietutu Brempong III, the paramount chief of the Wusuta Traditional Area, expressed profound gratitude for the Church’s generous contribution. He emphasized the importance of the community’s involvement in maintaining the new equipment and urged the health centre staff to ensure its proper care. “We are thankful for this support, and I call upon all staff to take good care of these tools, which are now a part of our community's health infrastructure,” he said
