The Ghana Teaching Council has awarded Fuseina Fuseini, a dedicated educator at Madina SDA Basic School in the Greater Accra Region, the title of Ghana’s Most Outstanding Teacher at the 2024 Ghana Teacher Prize awards.
This recognition coincides with World Teachers Day and aims to celebrate educators who significantly contribute to the nation’s education system.
The theme for this year’s awards, “Valuing Teacher Voices: Towards a New Social Contract for Education,” emphasizes the crucial role of teachers in shaping educational policies and practices.
This initiative highlights the need for teachers to be actively involved in discussions regarding the future of education in Ghana.
Madam Fuseina, a 47-year-old educator with over a decade of experience in teaching, attributed her national recognition to her consistent hard work and innovative approach to education.
She believes that dedication to her profession has played a significant role in her achievements.
In her remarks to the media following the award ceremony, Madam Fuseini urged all teachers to take their responsibilities seriously, reminding them that their efforts are always being observed.
Her message serves as an inspiration for educators to strive for excellence in their roles, reinforcing the importance of their contributions to the future of education in Ghana.
“I want to encourage all teachers across the country to also put in their best by adopting innovative ways of improving teaching and learning outcomes”, Madam Fuseina stressed.
