Defending champions FC Samartex makes the trip to the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium to face Karela United in what promises to be a thrilling clash in match week 5 of the Premier League.
Karela United, sitting 11th on the table with four points, will be looking to build on their momentum after securing a 2-0 win against Legon Cities in the capital last weekend.
The Tamale-based side has scored three and conceded three in their opening fixtures, but will aim to secure back-to-back wins as they look to move up the table.
So far, they’ve only suffered one defeat at home this season.
The Timber Giants, on the other hand, have had a challenging time on the road, going winless in their last eight away games dating back to 2023.
However, with one outstanding game in hand, they’ll hope to change their fortunes when they visit Karela.
Historically, Karela United have had the upper hand in this fixture, winning both of their home encounters since FC Samartex’s promotion in the 2022/23 season.
A narrow 1-0 victory in 2022/23 was followed by an emphatic 4-2 triumph last season, making the home side confident of continuing their dominance.
However, FC Samartex will be determined to end their away drought and rewrite their fortunes at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.
