The National Sports Authority (NSA) has extended its warm congratulations to Muftawu Nabila Abdulai of the Multimedia Group, following his recognition as the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Sports Journalist of the Year for 2024.
In an official statement released on Monday, September 30, the NSA praised Muftawu Nabila for his professionalism and dedication to sports journalism, emphasising his consistent verification of facts before publication as a hallmark of his integrity.
"His commitment to verifying facts before publication, rather than rushing to publish, is a testament to his integrity," the statement noted.
The Authority further acknowledged the role of Muftawu Nabila's personal social media platforms as trusted sources of information for both his colleagues and traditional media outlets.

"As the institution tasked with the development and promotion of sports in Ghana, we view the media as a critical stakeholder in the achievement of our mandate. We deeply appreciate the invaluable contribution of journalists like Mr Nabila in advancing the course of sports in the country."
The NSA also called on other sports journalists to uphold the same principles of fairness, balance, and accuracy in their reportage, noting that such values are crucial in maintaining the credibility of the industry.
The Authority concluded by expressing its hope that this accolade will inspire Mr. Nabila to continue excelling and serve as a motivation for others aspiring to follow in his footsteps.
"We take this opportunity to encourage all sports journalists to maintain fairness, balance, and accuracy in their reporting as they cover issues within the sports industry. Once again, we extend our congratulations."
