The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, has pledged that he will prioritise the development of Ghana’s newly created regions, including the North East.
According to the candidate, he will bring them up to par with the country's established regions.
During a visit to the Gambaraanaa Palace, where he paid respects to the acting chief and the community in mourning, Mr Mahama underscored the importance of improving infrastructure and basic amenities in the six new regions formed under the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He noted that these regions deserve immediate attention and development.
Mr Mahama promised that the next NDC administration would invest heavily in the North East and other newly formed regions, ensuring they receive adequate resources and support to foster growth and prosperity, equal to Ghana’s older regions.
“The status of these new regions needs to be raised in terms of infrastructure and other basic amenities,” Mr Mahama stated.
