The Office of the President has addressed rumours surrounding the health status of Secretary to President Akufo-Addo, Nana Bediatuo Asante.
The government in an official communique said Mr Asante recently fell ill while conducting government business in the United States.
According to the statement, Nana Bediatuo Asante began to feel unwell after the conclusion of the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, where he served as a key member of President Akufo-Addo’s delegation.
He was subsequently admitted to a hospital in the U.S. for treatment.
The Director of Communications at the Office of the President, Eugene Arhin confirmed that Nana Bediatuo Asante is currently in stable condition and responding well to medical care.
"He is currently in stable condition and responding well to treatment."
The Jubilee House said he is recovering steadily and expressed optimism about his full health.
"According to the medical team, Nana Bediatuo Asante’s recovery is on track, and we remain hopeful for his swift return to full strength," the statement said.
The statement further expressed appreciation for the continued prayers and support for Nana Bediatuo Asante and his family during this challenging time.
