The Electoral Commission (EC) has released provisional statistics indicating that 18,772,795 valid voters are expected to participate in the upcoming December general elections.
Of this total, 9,690,173 are females, and 9,082,622 are males.
The data also shows that 708,282 new voters have been added to the electoral roll ahead of the elections.
In addition, there are 332,110 transferred voters, 2,167 proxy voters, 32,974 individuals on the exceptions list, and 26,798 names on the multiples list.
During an Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting held in Accra on Tuesday, October 1, the EC Chairperson Jean Mensa addressed concerns about the voter register.
She confirmed that while the register is not yet finalised, the Commission has largely resolved the errors identified.
Madam Mensa acknowledged that some imperfections still exist but reassured stakeholders that such issues are common in any registration process.
She assured that the EC is making concerted efforts to correct the remaining discrepancies to ensure a smooth and fair electoral process.
