Music band Kwan Pa has expressed gratitude to entertainment marketer Kwaku Osei Korankye Asiedu (KOKA) for his pivotal contribution to their career advancement.
In an interview with DJ Slim on Daybreak Hitz, the group's guitarist, Ansah, recounted KOKA's invaluable support.
"When the band started, I was with Roverman Productions, and KOKA was also there. I spoke to him about my idea, and he gave me about 40 numbers of media personalities to connect with because he saw our talent and wanted to help us.
“What he felt he could do at the time was to link us to media people," he said on Hitz FM.
Mr. Ansah also stated the significance of KOKA's assistance, leading to their first media interview in 2017.
"As a result, our very first media interview came from one of the contacts KOKA provided us... Seven years later, here we are."
The band also attributed their inspiration to Dr. Sonudo, leader of the University of Ghana's Legon Palm Wine Band.
"Dr. Sonudo... started the Palm Wine Band, and when I was on campus, I used to skip lectures to watch him perform. They are the reason we started our own Palm Wine band," he said.
The lead singer of the band added that Dr Sonudo’s influence extended their musical style.
"He encouraged me to start learning modern, trendy songs and perform them, which also influenced our decision to create Christmas songs."
Kwan Pa is currently promoting their forthcoming EP, Sweet Palmwine. The project is expected to be accompanied by a short film bearing the same title.
