President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okrkau, has justified the rationale behind hiring different people for the management of the various national teams.
A petition submitted by the Save Ghana Football Forum in February included the trimming down of management committee members of the various national teams.
However, facing Parliament's Sports Select Committee on Monday, September 30, Kurt Okraku attributed the appointment to the teams requiring specialised hands on specific needs.
"Currently, we have 20 national teams and each of the 20 national teams has specific needs and attention. It's always important for us to find the right people, the right skill set with the right levels of passion who will help us to manage the national teams," he said.
"If you've been part of the FA set-up, you would fully appreciate what it means to manage the national team. Management committee members are as relevant yesterday as they are today."
Okarku was present at Parliament as they looked into the petition submitted by the Save Ghana Football Forum in February.
Present at the sitting was also the Vice President of the GFA, Mark Addo as well as General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo.
