Fidelity Bank Ghana has once again demonstrated its commitment to youth empowerment and innovation by providing GH¢101,422 to the Enactus C.K. Tedam University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS) team.

This support enabled them to participate in the Enactus World Cup 2024 competition in Kazakhstan.

The Enactus World Cup is a prestigious global competition where universities showcase innovative, sustainable solutions to community problems.

The competition provides students with invaluable hands-on experience in entrepreneurship, leadership, and social impact.

Julian Opuni, Managing Director of Fidelity Bank, expressed his pride in supporting the Enactus CKT-UTAS team.

"We are thrilled to be part of their journey to the World Cup," he stated. "Their dedication, innovation, and commitment to making a positive impact are truly inspiring."

Mr. Opuni emphasised the importance of such initiatives in empowering young people and fostering sustainable development.

"By supporting Enactus CKT-UTAS, we are investing in the future of Ghana," he declared. "Their success will not only bring pride to our nation but also create economic opportunities for their communities."

Professor Albert Luguterah, Vice-Chancellor of C.K. Tedam UTAS, expressed his deep appreciation for Fidelity Bank’s continuous support.

He highlighted that the university’s mission is to train students in technology and applied sciences, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to lead transformation efforts in Ghana and beyond.

"Our focus is to train future-ready leaders with the mandate to revolutionize and transform Ghana and the entire world," said Professor Luguterah.

He added, "We are extremely grateful to Fidelity Bank for partnering with us. Their support has motivated our students to strive for excellence on the world stage.

"Last year, we made it to the semifinals, and with Fidelity Bank’s continued backing, we are hopeful to bring the cup home this time," Professor Luguterah concluded.

David Amoah, the team lead of Enactus CKT-UTAS, shared insights into the project they will present at the Enactus World Cup.

This year, the team’s project, CocoFed, focuses on transforming coconut husks and other organic waste, such as banana peels and eggshells, into organic fertilizer.

"Our project recognises the global need for food security and aims to support farmers in Northern Ghana, with the potential to expand to other parts of Africa," explained Amoah.

Fidelity Bank's support for the Enactus CKT-UTAS team aligns with the bank's commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and its dedication to empowering the youth.

By providing financial assistance, Fidelity Bank is enabling these students to represent Ghana on a global stage and share their innovative solutions with the world.
