The Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) and the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) have issued a public notice addressing the recent power supply disruptions affecting parts of the country.
According to the two agencies, the interruptions are a result of challenges at the Ghana National Gas Limited Company's (GNGC) Gas Processing Plant in Atuabo, which has caused a reduction in gas supply for power generation.
In a joint statement, GRIDCo and ECG apologised for the inconvenience caused by these power outages.
The companies assured the public that engineers from GNGC are actively working to resolve the issue and restore the full gas supply required to stabilise power generation.
"We apologise unreservedly for the inconveniences caused to the public as a result of this challenge," the statement read.
"The situation is being closely monitored, and both GRIDCo and ECG are optimistic that normal power supply will resume once the problem at the Atuabo plant is addressed.
The agencies urged the public to remain patient as efforts are made to resolve the issue and minimize further disruptions.
Meanwhile, ECG has announced a planned maintenance schedule for Thursday, September 26 in parts of Accra.
