Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has glorified God for his position as the first on the presidential ballot paper for the 2024 Presidential Election.
Dr. Bawumia got the number 1 position on the ballot after the NPP representative at the balloting, held by the Electoral Commission, picked the much-sought after number twice during the balloting.
Speaking about the positioning during his interaction with the congregation of the Church of Pentecost, Breman Asikuma in the Central Region, Dr. Bawumia attributed it to the will of God.
"There are so many things men cannot do. But we believe God can do everything. There is nothing God cannot do,' Dr. Bawumia said.
"So whatever we do, we have to put our faith and trust in God. Once we put our trust in God, things will go well."
"Two days ago, we went for the balloting to select the order of the ballot for voting. We prayed to the Lord and we believe that God listened to our prayers. God gave us the number one position so we are grateful to God," Dr. Bawumia noted.
Many have described circumstances under which Dr. Bawumia got the number one position as divine.
The NPP representative at the balloting, first picked the number one position, but the first pick was nullified after the NDC protested the procedure, in a confusion which lasted for half an hour.
The NPP representatives refused to yield to the NDC's nullification proposal but after a prolonged, heated argument, sanity prevailed and the process started again, with all parties satisfied.
Surprisingly, the NPP representative picked the number one position again, sparking reactions on social media about what the choice could mean.
