ThinkStories Africa, a knowledge-sharing, networking, and skills-improvement platform for communicators, is set to bring together experts from across the continent to discuss the role of AI in storytelling.
The virtual event, dubbed the “Storytelling Hangout,” is slated for Friday, September 27, 2024, at 18:00 GMT and will feature Porsche Mystique Steele, an award-winning book coach and TEDx speaker; Felene Cayetano, a literary and visual storyteller; and Nana Nyarko Boateng, a creative writer and editor.
The trio will draw from years of communication practice and will explain how AI can be utilised to craft unique and engaging narratives, the art of visual storytelling, and storytelling techniques for writers.
"We're excited to be able to bring together some of the brightest minds in storytelling across Africa for this event. We expect participants to leave with practical tools and fresh insights on how to tell stories that connect with audiences on a deeper level—whether through words, visuals, or technology like AI," ThinkStories Founder, Samuel Osei has said.
This event builds on the success of previous ThinkStories webinars, which have featured leading communication figures such as David Lennon, Executive Director at Fortune Media Group, Ricardo Adame, C-Suite Reputation and Communications Senior Advisor, and Prof. Henry Jenkins, a renowned media scholar from the University of Southern California.
These sessions, which premiered in 2021, have attracted about 500 communication professionals from across Africa, including participants from Cameroon, Côte D’Ivoire, South Africa, Kenya, Rwanda, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Morocco and Nigeria.
Attendance is free and practitioners are encouraged to register here.
