United Bank for Africa (UBA) is excited to announce the Tastes of Africa Culinary Challenge, a unique competition celebrating the rich and diverse culinary heritage of Africa.
Participants will have the chance to win their share of an enticing $5,200 prize pool.
As part of the upcoming UBA Tastes of Africa Food Festival, this competition will be held in New York on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, coinciding with the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) Meetings.
The festival is set to highlight Africa's vibrant cuisine, culture, and diversity, reflecting the continent's remarkable history and cultural richness.
To participate in the challenge, contestants are required to:
- Create a Tastes of Africa menu featuring traditional African snacks and drinks.
- Record a 1-minute video of themselves preparing and plating the dishes.
- Post the video on social media, tagging @UBAGroup and using the hashtag #UBATastesofAfrica.
Entries for the competition must be submitted by September 19, 2024.
The Tastes of Africa Food Festival is more than just a culinary experience—it’s a celebration of Africa’s cultural unity and diversity.
Through this event, UBA aims to bridge continents and cultures through the universal language of food while promoting Africa's rich traditions on the world stage.
